I’m so excited! My submission to UPPERCASE Magazine was accepted for Issue 61, which is at the printers now. The call for artists asked for artwork in the realm of “revisit / review / remix / revise.” Pyramids, shown earlier on this blog, was the one Janine Vangool chose. It’s made of what I thought of as “less than successful” gelatin plate prints.

Here are some accordion book images that also used scraps of prints.

I had a great time finding a way to use pieces of prints as a palette of colors to create new work. I highly recommend playing with materials to see what comes up. So don’t throw those art projects away or leave them in a box. See what magic they can create when you are free to experiment with those pieces that never quite made the cut.
I would love to hear how you have reused/repurposed previously made artwork.
